Whether we’d admit it or not, most of us have had issues with our unmentionables and had to pick at the problem in our rears. And a new study says that wedgies are the biggest annoyance women have when it comes to their underwear.

Following the uncomfortable wedgie, ShopSmart found that undies that don’t “lay flat under clothing” (aka VPL) and not enough coverage on their rears. And researchers found that underwear status actually affects women’s moods. About 47 percent admit to feeling sexier or more confident when they don that special pair, and one-quarter of all survey participants revealed they had a pair they’d be embarrassed for someone else to see.

“What you wear under your clothes is just as important — maybe even more — as what you wear on the outside,” said Lisa Lee Freeman, editor-in-chief of ShopSmart.

If you feel like you’re the only one who can’t find a pair of panties that fits you just right, you’re not alone: Nearly one-third of respondents couldn’t find sweet nothings in their size. 55 percent said it’s hard for them to actually find comfortable underwear, which could explain why one in 10 women admitted that she has gone commando at least once.

So the next time you go shopping in Victoria’s Secret, you’ll be reassured to know that you’re not the only one who’s having issues while rummaging through the piles of half-off thongs.
