The comedian revealed the happy news on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers,’ and said initially she thought the proposal was a joke.
Aidy Bryant is engaged.
The Saturday Night Live star revealed the happy news during her appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers that she's tying the knot with Conner O'Malley, who also happens to be a writer at Late Night.
Bryant, 29, who's been dating O'Malley for nine years, shares that she arrived home from SNL one night to find their dog wearing a rather formal accessory.
“I walked in the door and our dog had a bow tie and I was like, 'My dog doesn't wear a bow tie. Where is he going tonight?'” she recalled with a laugh. “Basically, the minute I shut the door, a man who I discovered was Connor frantically came around and was just like, 'Will you marry me?' No box. No 'I love you.'”
The comedienne thought it was a joke at first, but of course, that wasn't the case.
She continued: “Just a man in full terror standing very far from a dog in a bow tie, just holding a loose ring going, ‘Will you marry me?’ I was like, ‘What?’ I truly couldn’t comprehend what was happening, and I kept saying, ‘Is this a joke? Are you doing a joke?’ And then I said, ‘Of course I’ll marry you. I love you.’ And it was really nice.”
