The woman knows how to make an entrance.
All eyes were on Melania as the First Lady arrived at the Capitol Building on Tuesday evening to support President Donald Trump while he addressed a Joint Session of Congress for the first time in his presidency.
FLOTUS made quite the entrance, descending the balcony stairs into the gallery — hair perfectly windblown — in an embellished black blazer ($5,000) with a wide belt and a matching skirt ($4,600) from Michael Kors' spring 2017 collection.

The head-to-toe black ensemble, with its sparkles and sharp lines, drew awe from across party lines on social media. “This has nothing to do with politics, but I'm really digging this sparkly blazer on Melania Trump,” tweeted Homa Bash, an NBC correspondent.
Meanwhile, First Daughter Ivanka Trump opted for a magenta sheath dress by French designer Roland Mouret (originally $3,000, now sold out) with an asymmetrical neckline. Ivanka posted a photo of her look on Instagram alongside her husband, Jared Kushner.
With only a little over a month under her belt as the First Lady, Melania is already redefining power dressing. Whereas Hillary Clinton was partial to her trusty pantsuits, Melania is adding a bit of glamor to the White House by ditching trousers in favor of the bedazzled skirt suit. She has also ushered in the era of the stiletto to D.C., having worn a pair of sky-high Manolo Blahnik stilettos on Inauguration day.
Despite the appearances of her monochromatic dark look this evening, Melania has also been a champion of bold colors, like Michelle Obama before her. From her hot pink Gucci blouse from the debates (remember that pussy bow?) to the bold red dress she wore while her husband signed two bills in support of women in STEM and business fields, Melania is proving to be quite the style chameleon.
